3 Tips for Traveling to a Small Town

Sometimes nothing's better than the charm of a small town, a little escape from the hustle and bustle of our crazy lives. They're cute, they're small, they're quirky, but most of all they're fun! I've been to a few here and there, instate to international, here are my 3 best tips for traveling to one, enjoy!

1. Embrace it. It's not hard (and actually adjusting while visiting a small town can be quite fun) but you have to remember things are different, smaller. For big city dwellers or those locked in the suburbs you have access to everything, favorite brands, favorite foods, WiFi, etc. However, when traveling to a small town you have to just make do with what you can find. It's usually not worth the hour drive to a bigger city just for shampoo certainly when there's a little market just around the corner. (Also check before you go and make sure you get cell reception ðŸ˜Š)

2. There's no Uber. Most of the time if you're not meeting family or friends you're going to have to rent a car- otherwise your stuck. Sometimes you can take a train in and out of town and just walk during your stay but as that's not always a option. Renting a car usually your best bet.

3. Explore EVERYTHING. Most people just go to a small town to do some certain thing like go kayaking however, small towns are actually full of little hidden gems. It doesn't matter if you're in Lacock, England or Arena, Wisconsin, the shop 10 steps down from your hotel could be full of your friends' future birthday gifts.
